Mumma Bee Cafe

Mumma Bee Cafe is a neighbourhood cafe on Paget Street in Hilton, a short hop from Fremantle, serving all-day brunch from a small suburban strip. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, which makes it a regular stop for local dog walkers.

The dog setup

Dogs settle in on the outdoor seating, and the relaxed street-side arrangement means water bowls and a shady table are the usual service. It is a morning and midday venue rather than a late dinner stop, with doors open from 6:30am on weekdays and 7am on weekends until 2pm.

The menu

The kitchen covers the brunch classics plus a few bigger swings: acai bowls and nourishing bowls, nasi goreng, and a cabinet of house-baked cakes and pastries with gluten free options. Matcha, chai and fresh juices sit alongside the coffee, and the weekend brunch rush runs through to closing at 2pm.

Pepsi: the acai bowl smells like nothing I am allowed, but the footpath table at Mumma Bee gets morning sun and a steady stream of ears to scratch. I rate it five lampposts.

Getting there

The cafe sits at 36 Paget Street in Hilton, with easy street parking on Paget and the surrounding residential streets, and a footpath strip wide enough for tables and a resting dog. Fremantle is a few minutes west, and the cafe is an easy detour from South Street.

Close by with the dogs

Charlie's Coffee Bar on South Street is the other Hilton coffee stop, and Two Dogs Laughing at Beaconsfield lives up to its name for dog friendly service.
