The cafe fronts a busy stretch of Charters Towers Road, so keep the lead short at the table edge and expect footpath traffic, especially on weekday mornings.

The vibe

It is a plant-and-coffee shop first, gift shop second: styled greenery, art and boutique fashion line the shop floor, and the cafe pours locally roasted coffee from Freelance Coffee Roasters. The cabinet leans towards locally made sweets, light lunches and small plates, with solid vegetarian and vegan options and a rotating seasonal line. If you are browsing the shop before a table opens up, staff are used to regulars doing a lap of the pots with a dog waiting outside.

Getting there and parking

The address is 120A Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park, a few kilometres south-west of the Townsville CBD. Parking is on-street along Charters Towers Road and the side streets behind the shop; weekday mornings are the pinch point and time limits apply, so a Saturday visit before the 2pm close is the easier run. The cafe opens weekdays from 8am, Saturdays from 9am, and closes Sundays.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-lead run afterwards, Rossiter Park Fenced Dog Park in Aitkenvale is about ten minutes away, with a fenced riverside area, shade trees and agility gear, while Townsville Main Dog Park sits just up the road in the same suburb.
