Little Mickey's Cafe

Little Mickey's on Hercules Street is the Hamilton cafe that dog walkers plan their mornings around: a doggy wall of fame by the door, treats behind the counter and the Hercules Street fenced dog park a few doors up the road. It is a cosy, community-flavoured spot that runs from 6am, which makes the pre-work coffee and the post-park coffee the same venue.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, which is where everyone sits with a dog anyway under the usual Queensland rules. Water bowls are usually on hand, the kitchen keeps dog treats stocked, and celebratory doggy cakes have been known to appear. Indoor dining stays humans-only, so grab the outdoor table and settle in.

The vibe

Friendly staff, house-baked cinnamon scrolls and muffins, and a proper breakfast and lunch menu beyond the sweets, with the fish and chips a sleeper hit. Getting there

You will find it at 9 Hercules Street, Hamilton, an easy turn off Kingsford Smith Drive with free street parking on the surrounding blocks. The CityCat and the Riverwalk are nearby if you are making a morning of it on foot.

Make a day of it
