The Wyatt is a contemporary cafe at 77 Werona Avenue in Gordon, on the quiet side of the railway station away from the Pacific Highway. The fact that matters for dog owners: the outdoor patio and al fresco tables on a low-traffic street, where a leashed dog can actually settle rather than brace against buses and trucks.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor tables only; standard NSW food-safety rules keep the interior people-only. Werona Avenue itself is quiet, which keeps the patio calm even at brunch peaks. Bring your own water bowl as a backup rather than counting on one being provided, and pick a corner table if your dog prefers watching the street to being part of it.

Worth knowing

The menu runs well beyond standard cafe fare: chicken and waffles, bacon hash benedict, crab omelette, udon, wagyu bowls, matcha drinks and seasonal truffle and jacaranda offerings. Hours are 6am to 3pm on weekdays and 7:30am to 3pm on weekends, and the kitchen closes at 2:30pm sharp, so order well before then. Weekday early mornings are the quietest table windows.

Max: arrive at the 7:30am weekend open, take a patio table, and order the chicken and waffles before the kitchen queue forms.

Getting there and parking

Gordon Station on the T1 North Shore line sits directly adjacent, which makes the train the easiest approach; the cafe is seconds from the platform on the quiet side. Street parking is available on Werona Avenue and the surrounding residential streets, though the station commuters claim the closest spots on weekdays.
