Lofberg Fenced Dog Park

Lofberg Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, 24/7 off-leash enclosure at 37 Yanko Road in West Pymble, set in a natural hollow below road level and shaded by large trees. Double-gate entry keeps it secure, and the council's safety lighting means it works as well after dark as mid-morning, which few parks in the area can claim.

The dog setup

Off-leash running is for inside the fence, with owners staying in the park, supervising, and keeping dogs under voice control. The double-gate system is there to stop escapes at the threshold, so latch both gates behind you going in and out. Benches, a water fountain for dogs and people, poo bags and waste bins are all on site, and there is a free car park off Yanko Road serving the precinct alongside Lofberg Oval and Bicentennial Park. If you wander into the surrounding sports areas, the leash goes back on during organised fixtures.

The vibe

The hollow gives it a sheltered, contained feel and mostly short grass, with paths and a small bridge leading down into the park. Early mornings and the post-work window draw the bigger, more energetic dogs; if yours is small or shy, weekday midday is the calmer slot with room to spread out. Shaded trees take the edge off summer visits.

Getting there

Parking is free on site off Yanko Road. By transit, Pymble and Gordon stations are the closest on the T1 line, and the 575 bus stops near Philip Mall in West Pymble with a short walk from there.

Brick Lane Espresso in Philip Mall has outdoor seating and water for dogs, an easy walk or drive away. South Turramurra Dog Oval is the next off-leash option up the road, Lanyon Dog Park covers Gordon, and the Lovers Jump Creek loop handles the on-lead bushwalk side.
