Cafe Elation

Cafe Elation is a Modern Australian and Asian-fusion brunch spot at 226 Victoria Road, Gladesville, on the corner of Jordan Street, and dogs are properly catered for at the outdoor tables. It pours ONA coffee and turns out some of the more interesting brunch plates in the Ryde-Hunters Hill pocket, which is why the weekend queue is a thing.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating and patio, shaded by awnings, but not indoors. Water bowls are set out and complimentary treats are usually kept at the counter for visiting dogs. The frontage sits on Victoria Road, so there is steady passing traffic: fine for a confident dog, less so for a noise-shy one, so a weekday table beats a Saturday brunch for the sensitive types. Keep dogs leashed at the table.

The vibe and the menu

The menu is where this one stands out: matcha french toast, mentaiko toast, onsen baked eggs, unagi with scrambled eggs, salmon poke bowls, umami mushrooms and a wagyu burger, with solid vegetarian and vegan coverage. Iced taro lattes and ONA's seasonal blends cover the drink side. Hours are 6:30am to 3pm weekdays, 7am to 2:30pm Saturday and 7:30am to 2:30pm Sunday.

Getting there and parking

It is on Victoria Road at the Jordan Street corner, with free street parking on the side streets. The frontage spots fill at peak weekend brunch, so budget a short walk if you arrive mid-morning Saturday.

While you're out there

Quiet residential streets sit just off Victoria Road for a leg stretch, and the Parramatta River parks are a short drive away. The Bay Run is the classic waterfront loop nearby, Olympic Dog Park covers the off-lead run in Ryde, and The Sunroom is a good second stop in Hunters Hill.
