GYROS CO Specialty Coffee

GYROS CO Specialty Coffee is a specialty coffee and sandwich cafe inside the Fairfield Train Station arcade, and it is a fixture for local dog owners: dogs are welcome inside and out, the cafe brands itself dog-friendly and proud of it, and regulars bring their dogs in most mornings.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome both outside on the footpath along The Crescent and inside the arcade cafe. A jar of treats usually sits on the counter, and water bowls are set out for thirsty dogs. There is no fee, just the usual cafe manners with your dog on lead. The casual, high-traffic station setting suits a settled, people-comfortable dog.

Worth knowing

The coffee is specialty, pulled from Allpress beans, and the food runs to gourmet sandwiches, bagels and smashed avocado. The cafe regularly features customers' dogs on its social pages, which tells you how much a part of the furniture they are here.

Getting there and parking

Find it at shop 11, 52-68 The Crescent, Fairfield, inside the Fairfield Train Station arcade, so it is an easy stop if you arrive by train. Street parking runs along The Crescent, with timed car parks in the Fairfield CBD nearby if that fills up. It opens 6am weekdays and 7am Saturdays, closing 4:30pm weekdays and 1pm Saturdays, and is closed Sundays.

Close by with the dogs

Fairfield Park is a short walk along The Crescent for an on-lead stroll before or after coffee. For a proper off-leash session, the Fairfield Park fenced dog park is the closest option, and the Fairfield Showground fenced dog park in Prairiewood is a short drive with separate fenced zones. Mr Wednesday is another dog-friendly cafe in the suburb.
