KK’s Coffee Kart

KK's Coffee Kart is an open-air coffee cart at 92 Chinderah Bay Drive, right on the Tweed River at Chinderah, just off the M1. There are no walls and no doors: everything happens outdoors on the footpath and grass verge, which makes it one of the more genuinely easy dog stops on the Tweed coast road. If you are walking the riverfront, the kart sits straight on the path.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome throughout the outdoor area, because the outdoor area is all of it. Leash your dog beside you at the counter or take a table on the grass across the road. A water bowl is often left out front, though it pays to carry your own in case it is not out that day. There is no dog menu, but the staff are used to four-legged regulars and the queue moves quickly.

The coffee and the menu

The kart pours Quest Coffee Roasters blends and keeps a short, well-regarded food list: toasties, breakfast wraps and fresh muffins made daily, with banana bread a recurring favourite in reviews. Reviewers keep coming back to the setting as much as the coffee, with the river view doing a lot of the work. Hours at last listing were 6am to midday Monday to Friday, 6:30am Saturdays and 7am Sundays, so it is strictly a morning stop.

Close by with the dogs

Corowa Park Dog Exercise Area is a short walk away at the corner of Chinderah Road and Terrace Street, a flat grassed reserve on the Tweed River bank where dogs are allowed off lead under effective control. Tweed Shire Council rules apply: leash up outside signed off-leash areas, carry a lead at all times and keep dogs clear of playgrounds and dining areas. Free street parking sits right by the kart.
