Cooks Cafe is a family-run coffee spot on Canterbury Road, a short walk from Canterbury station, and dogs are genuinely welcome in the outdoor seating out front.

Nearby with the dogs. Leslie Muir Reserve, a fully fenced off-leash park on the Cooks River, is a short walk away, and the Cooks River foreshore path gives you a longer on-leash walk in either direction.

A solid stop for a coffee and a feed either side of a walk along the river, keep your dog leashed and beside your table since it is a working footpath cafe, not a fenced yard.
