Cafe Carino

The dog setup. Cafe Carino is a coffee van parked down at Tunks Park in Cammeray, near the boat ramp, and it sits in the middle of open harbourside parkland. It's a grab-a-coffee-and-sit-on-the-grass setup rather than a formal cafe, so there's plenty of room for a dog beside you. Owner Steve is known for being good with dogs and often has his own along; bring your own bowl for water.

Good to know. A highly rated little van known for its coffee, toasted cheese melts, brownies and pastries, right at the water's edge on Long Bay.

Getting there. Free parking is in the large Tunks Park car park off Small Street, a short walk from the van. Hours are generally around 6:30am to 3:00pm; confirm on the day as van hours can shift.

Nearby with the dogs. The Tunks Park oval and open lawns are right there for a walk, with bushland paths around Long Bay and the boat ramp to watch if you're waiting on a coffee.

When to go. Weekday mornings are the quiet pick; weekends bring the community crowd. Good for pairing a coffee with a proper parkland walk.
