Sandy Feet Cafe Kawana

Sandy Feet Cafe Kawana is a beachside coffee trailer parked at Beach Access 223 on Pacific Boulevard in Buddina, right by the Kawana Surf Club. It exists for the walk-up crowd coming off the sand and the coastal path, and with free dog treats at the window it has become a fixture of the local beach-walk circuit.

The dog setup

Everything here is open air around the trailer, so dogs settle on the grass or footpath beside you while you order. Free treats for visiting dogs are the genuine drawcard, and the staff are known for being lovely about it. Being a trailer rather than a fixed cafe means water can be hit and miss, so carry a portable bowl. Keep your dog on lead through the car park and path down to the sand.

The vibe

Quick, good coffee built for people mid-walk, with cookies, protein balls and slushies in the cabinet for the hotter days. It runs mornings only: Tuesday to Sunday from 6:30am to 11am, closed Mondays. It is popular with the local beach-walking crowd, so your dog will have company, and trailer hours can shift, so check their socials before a special trip.

Getting there and parking

The trailer sits at Beach Entrance 223, Pacific Boulevard, Buddina, next to the Kawana Surf Club. Street parking runs along Pacific Boulevard and there is a public car park by the surf club that fills quickly on weekends, so arrive early for a spot with the dog.

Where the off-leash runs are

Under Sunshine Coast Council rules, the sand at access 223 itself is on-lead, so clip the leash on here. The off-leash stretches sit either side: accesses 210 to 217 near Mawarra Avenue to the north, and the dog beach continuing from access 226 south into Warana. Dogs stay off the dunes and out of the Buddina Foreshore Reserve, and the Point Cartwright walkway makes a good on-lead loop.
