Cup O' Joy is a small, cosy cafe on Queensland Avenue in the heart of Broadbeach, steps from Oracle Boulevard and the beachfront. It leans into dogs, with free doggy biscuits handed out alongside your coffee.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating, right on the main thoroughfare. Free dog biscuits are offered, and water bowls are usually on hand, though it is worth bringing your own just in case.

Good to know. The coffee is Campos Superior blend, and the kitchen is well rated for its chilli scramble, truffle mushroom stack and breakfast burritos, with a solid vegan and vegetarian range. It is a genuinely small room, so the footpath tables are where you will want to sit with a dog. Open daily 7am to 2pm.

Getting there. Paid street parking runs along Queensland Avenue, with more metered spots nearby. If those are full, the underground parking at The Oracle is a short walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. Kurrawa Park is a two-minute walk east, and the Broadbeach coastal path is close for a longer walk after brunch.
