Supersweet Cafe

Supersweet Cafe is a busy brunch and dessert cafe on the Lonsdale Street strip in Braddon, known across Canberra for its rotating lineup of house-made crepe cakes and a strong matcha game. The draw for dog owners is the outdoor seating along one of the most walkable cafe strips in the city, with Haig Park's dog agility course a short walk away for a run either side of coffee.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating out the front, on lead and settled close to your table. Inside is for people only, which is standard under ACT food rules. The cafe has not published a formal dog policy, so treat the footpath tables as the reliable option and check with staff on arrival, particularly if the strip is busy. Bring your own water bowl for a warm day rather than counting on one being out.

The vibe and the menu

This is a sweet-first cafe: the display fridge is the headline act, with mille-feuille style crepe cakes in matcha, Earl Grey, Thai tea and rose, plus watermelon cake, honey cake and burnt basque cheesecake alongside savoury brunch plates and brekkie rolls. Expect a queue at peak brunch hours on weekends. Hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm weekdays and 8am to 4pm on weekends.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at G11/27 Lonsdale Street in the heart of the Braddon strip. Street parking around Braddon is metered and tight on weekends, so walking or cycling in works better if you are local. The flat, pedestrian-friendly block makes it easy with a dog, and the whole strip is built for a slow wander.
