Supersweet Cafe

Supersweet is a busy, highly rated brunch and dessert cafe on Lonsdale Street in the thick of the Braddon strip, known as much for its matcha, crepe cakes and cheesecakes as its coffee. Like most of the strip, the draw for dog owners is the footpath seating in a precinct built for walking.

The dog setup. The cafe has outdoor footpath tables, which is where dogs sit; inside is for people only, in line with ACT food rules. We have not been able to confirm a formal dog policy, so treat the footpath seating as the safe bet and check with staff on arrival. Bring your own collapsible water bowl rather than assuming one is on hand.

Good to know. The menu leans sweet and photogenic, matcha, crepe cakes, watermelon cake, rainbow fritters, alongside the usual eggs benedict. It gets genuinely busy, so the footpath tables fill fast on weekends.

Getting there. Right on the Lonsdale Street strip with paid street parking nearby that fills early; the light rail along Northbourne Avenue is a short walk. Haig Park is a couple of minutes away on foot for a walk before or after.

Best as an early weekend stop before the crowds, or a quieter weekday morning if you want a footpath table without the wait.
