Distrykt Coffee

Distrykt Coffee is a small neighbourhood cafe at 1/1 Gunter Grove in the Beldon shopping strip, built around homemade food and consistently good coffee. It opens Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm, Saturday from 6am to 1:30pm, and closes Sundays, which makes it a genuine early morning option on Perth's northern beaches.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables only; the indoor room is for people. The staff have a reputation for being warm to dogs, and plenty of customers arrive straight off a morning walk with their pup in tow.

There is no guaranteed water bowl sitting out, so bring your own. Keep your dog leashed and clear of the walkway, because the footpath tables sit in the path of other shoppers.

Worth knowing

The kitchen leans healthy and homemade: bagels, muffins, banana bread, sausage rolls and ham and cheese croissants, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options across the menu. The mocha gets regular praise and there is a solid tea list too.

You can also buy whole or ground beans to take home. The entrance, parking and seating are all wheelchair accessible, and there are restrooms on site.

Getting there

The cafe sits in the small Beldon shopping complex near the corner of Gunter Grove and Beldon Circle, with free parking directly out front. Weekday mornings before 9am are the easiest time to claim an outdoor table, and Saturdays fill fast with the after walk crowd.

Make a day of it

Give the dog a proper run first at the Whitfords North Dog Exercise Area in neighbouring Craigie, or keep it smaller at Warrandyte Park. Next door in the same complex, Cugini Coffee & Co. is another dog friendly pour if Distrykt's footpath seats are full.
