Cugini Coffee & Co. is a locally owned cafe in the Beldon Shopping Centre at 9 Gunter Grove, run by two cousins who have built a warm, community-minded local following in Perth's northern suburbs. Specialty coffee, a solid all-day menu and a genuinely dog-welcoming alfresco make it the neighbourhood's default stop after a morning walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the alfresco tables on the shopping centre frontage; indoors is people only. Regulars report free pup cups for visiting dogs and a local dog wall of fame by the counter, so canine regulars are part of the furniture here. Water bowls are not confirmed as a standing fixture, so bring your own, particularly through Perth's warmer months.

Worth knowing

Hours are 6am to 2pm weekdays and 7am to 2pm weekends, an early-close cafe rather than a dinner option. The drinks list covers handcrafted specialty coffee from the house's own roasted beans, loose-leaf teas, matcha lattes and cold drinks such as the nutty monkey smoothie, while the kitchen serves breakfast and lunch with pancakes, almond croissants, a kids' menu and a good spread of gluten-free options.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits inside the Beldon Shopping Centre, with free parking directly out the front of the shops along Gunter Grove. Level access from the car park to the alfresco makes it straightforward for older dogs.

Close by with the dogs

The Whitfords North dog exercise area in Craigie is the closest off-leash run, open through daylight hours though unlit after dusk.
