Blanc Canvas Cafe

Blanc Canvas Cafe is a small, dog-friendly coffee spot in the Connolly Shopping Centre on Glenelg Place, north of Joondalup, open mornings only from Wednesday to Saturday. It has built a local following on strong coffee, toasted sandwiches and a standing offer of something for the dog.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating out the front of the shopping centre unit, on a lead and settled beside the table. Staff are known to bring out a water bowl and a dog biscuit without being asked, though the cafe has not published a formal pet policy, so worth confirming on a first visit if you need something specific.

Pepsi: go in the first hour after opening on a Saturday. The strip is quiet, the treats come out early, and your dog gets the good table before the regulars do.

The vibe

It is a neighbourhood cafe rather than a destination, popular with locals for the coffee and the toasted sandwiches, with gluten-free options for owners. Hours are short, running from 7am to 1pm on weekdays and to 11am on Saturdays, with Sunday closed.

Getting there

The cafe sits inside the Connolly Shopping Centre, with free centre parking directly outside. It is a short detour off Ocean Reef Road, and Connolly station on the Joondalup line is within walking distance.

Close by with the dogs

If you want a run before the coffee, Elcar Park Fenced Dog Park in Joondalup is a few minutes' drive, and the Lake Joondalup Circuit covers an on-lead leg stretch. Diesel Espresso Bar is another dog-friendly coffee option in the same corridor.
