Roxy's Cafe

Roxy's Cafe is the neighbourhood cafe and pizzeria at 19 Dokic Way, Baranduda, on the edge of Wodonga in Victoria's north east. By day it runs coffee, all-day breakfast and lunch from 6am on weekdays; by night it turns into a pizzeria doing pickup and delivery in the early evening. The cafe is named after Roxy, the real-life resident dog, and four-footed visitors are treated as regulars rather than an afterthought.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating areas, and there is grass and a park right out the front where your dog can stretch out while you wait for your order. Staff are happy for you to throw down a picnic blanket on the lawn if your dog settles better on the ground than in a chair. Indoor seating is for people only, so pick an outside table when your dog is with you. Free parking is available on site and nearby, and the entrance, seating and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Worth knowing

The daytime cabinet is a strong reason to come: house-made sweets and pastries, occasional limited-run collaborations like the cruffins Roxy's has done with local makers, plus toasties, wraps and generous breakfast plates, with vegetarian and vegan options alongside. The coffee has a solid local following. Pizza nights run separately in the evenings, with classic and gourmet pizzas and sides; check the pizzeria's page for which nights are on before planning a dinner stop with the dog in tow.

Getting there and parking

The cafe opens 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 2pm Saturday and 7am to 11:30am Sunday, with pizza service in the early evening. Baranduda is a short drive east of central Wodonga, and parking at the cafe is free.

Close by with the dogs

For a proper off-lead run before breakfast, Belvoir Park Dog Park in Wodonga has fenced space for a good zoom. In town, Blind Freddy's Cafe is another dog-friendly coffee stop. If you are staying overnight in the area with your dog, Little Neuk BnB is close by in Baranduda.
