Atmosfire Howrah cafe/Restaurant

Atmosfire is an all-day cafe and restaurant at 4/13 Howrah Road on Hobart's Eastern Shore, with an outdoor seating area that looks over a small park and takes dogs. Unlike most cafes here, it also runs dinner service on Friday and Saturday evenings, from 4pm to 8pm.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor section only; the indoor room is people only. Keep your dog leashed and settled beside the table, and the team is happy to top up water when asked, though bringing a collapsible bowl covers busy stretches. The outlook over the park gives a dog something to watch while you eat.

Worth knowing

The menu runs well past standard cafe fare: hearty breakfasts including a vegan and vegetarian plate, plus steak sandwiches, Chicken 65 and chicken parma at lunch. Coffee is a strong point and reviewers regularly credit the portion sizes. Hours are 7am to 3pm Monday to Thursday, with 2:30pm closes and the evening session Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 2:30pm Sunday.

Getting there and parking

There is a free car park on site and street parking nearby, and Howrah Road links straight into the Bellerive corridor. It is roughly fifteen minutes from central Hobart via the Tasman Bridge.

Close by with the dogs

Howrah Beach allows dogs off-lead under effective control outside the summer window (10am to 6pm, 1 December to 1 March, per City of Clarence rules), though Little Howrah Beach is off limits at all times. The Howrah Dog Park covers off-lead play inland, and Howrah Brewing Journeys is another local stop if you are making a morning of it.
