South Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park

South Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a City of Clarence off-leash reserve in Bellerive, fully fenced with an open grass field and separate areas for large dogs and small or vulnerable dogs, right near the waterfront.

The rules. Dogs must be kept under effective control, meaning within sight and responsive to your commands, even off-leash inside the fenced area. Dog waste must be removed immediately, with fines for non-compliance. There is a designated off-leash area for greyhounds as part of Clarence's exercise area network.

What's there. A fully fenced perimeter, a water station for dogs, shaded seating for owners, some agility equipment, and wheelchair-accessible entry and parking.

Getting there. The reserve is off South Street in Bellerive, with street parking generally available nearby. Local Clarence suburban bus routes run through Bellerive village.

Watch-outs. The reserve sits close to the water, and any adjacent beach areas can carry different, seasonal on-leash and off-leash rules to the fenced park itself, so check signage before heading to the sand.

Nearby with the dogs. Bellerive Village and the Bellerive Boardwalk both have dog-friendly cafes within a short drive, and several pet-friendly holiday rentals are available in Bellerive and neighbouring Howrah.

When to go. Weekday mid-mornings are quietest. Weekends and weekday late afternoons, roughly 3:30 to 5:30 pm, draw the biggest crowds.
