Due Passi is an Italian cafe and deli on Great North Road in Abbotsford, known for house-made pasta, artisan coffee and a cosy neighbourhood feel. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, not inside.

The dog setup. Dogs can join you in the outdoor seating at the front and the extra seating along the side of the building. Indoor dining stays dog-free. Water bowls are put out for dogs, and staff are used to four-legged regulars, but keep your dog leashed and settled beside your table.

Known for. House-made pasta, authentic Italian flavours and good coffee are the draw, alongside a deli counter worth browsing on the way out.

Getting there. The cafe is at 563 Great North Road, Abbotsford. Parking is on-street along Great North Road and can fill up on weekends, so allow a few extra minutes to find a spot. Sydney Buses run along Great North Road if you would rather not drive.

Nearby with the dogs. Cullen Reserve is a short stroll away for a waterfront walk before or after your coffee, and Steege Park is a couple of minutes further on foot. The Abbotsford wharf area, down the hill from the cafe, makes for a scenic add-on walk.

Grab the side seating if the front is full, it is just as close to the water bowl and a bit quieter for a nervous dog.

Go for a mid-morning coffee on a weekday if you want the outdoor tables to yourself, and follow it with a walk down to Cullen Reserve.
