Due Passi

Due Passi is an Italian cafe and deli at 563 Great North Road in Abbotsford, on the Sydney inner-west's waterfront fringe. House-made pasta from the pasta bar, all-day breakfast and lunch, and well-regarded coffee are the draw, with a deli counter to browse on the way out. The cafe's dog policy is verified as dogs welcome, with the outdoor tables as their domain.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the front outdoor seating, and there is extra seating along the side of the building if the footpath row is full; indoor dining stays dog-free. Water bowls are put out and staff are used to four-legged regulars, so a settled dog on a lead beside your table is exactly the norm here.

Pepsi: the side seating is a touch quieter than the front if your dog is nervous, and it is just as close to the water bowls.

Getting there and parking

Hours run 7am to 4pm Tuesday to Sunday; the website lists Monday as closed, so check before planning a Monday walk. Parking is on-street along Great North Road and fills on weekends, and buses run along the road if you would rather leave the car at home.

The cafe is a short walk from the Abbotsford wharf area down the hill, which makes a scenic on-lead add-on to your coffee, and Battersea Off Leash Dog Park is nearby for a proper run before or after breakfast. Further along the bay, Blackwall Cafe in Chiswick and Livvi's Cafe in Five Dock are other dog-friendly coffee stops on this side of the water, both within a few minutes' drive.
