Woorim Dog Beach

Woorim Dog Beach is the ocean-side off-leash stretch on the southern end of Woorim Beach, Bribie Island, running from Beach Access 19 south towards the Bongaree boundary.

The rules. Off-leash only applies between Access 19 and the signed southern marker. North of Access 19, near the surf club, dogs need to stay leashed. Dunes and vegetated areas are off-limits at all times, and owners must keep effective voice or visual control of their dog. Cleanup bags and bins are provided at the main accesses.

Getting there. Drive north on the M1, take the Bribie Island exit, and follow Bribie Island Road onto Woorim Avenue, then North Street towards Lowry Street. Free street parking is available near the end of Lowry Street or by the surf club. The TransLink 640 bus also services Bribie Island and stops near the Woorim shops, a short walk from the off-leash area.

Nearby with the dogs. RSL Social has outdoor space with water stations, and Mokha Cafe on the main strip is quick and casual. Bribie Island Caravan Park takes dogs if you're staying over, and plenty of local holiday houses in Woorim list as pet-friendly.

Weekday mornings or late afternoons are quietest. Watch for surf and the odd rip on windier days, especially if your dog isn't a strong swimmer.
