Woorim Beach's southern stretch is one of Bribie Island's best-known off-leash dog beaches, running from Beach Access 19 at Lowry Street south towards Bongaree, with open sand, ocean surf and views across to Moreton Island.
The rules. Dogs can run off-leash on the sand and in the water from Access 19 southwards to the marked sign. Between the car park and that sign, dogs must stay on a leash. Dunes and vegetated areas are strictly off-limits, and dogs aren't allowed in the children's playground or picnic and barbecue areas. Owners need to keep effective voice control at all times, and cleanup bags are mandatory.
What's there. There's a water fountain for people and dogs, a hose for rinsing sand off after a swim, and waste bags provided at the main entry points. A few visitors have mentioned a dog toy library on site, though it's worth treating that as a nice-to-have rather than something to rely on.
Getting there. From Brisbane it's about an hour via the M1 and Bribie Island Road, following signs to Woorim. Free parking is available at the end of Lowry Street, or near the golf course if the main entrance car park is full. Public transport is limited, so most visitors drive.
Nearby with the dogs. The Blue Pacific Hotel on North Street has a dog-friendly beer garden, and Woorim Surf Club allows dogs in its downstairs areas. For a stay, Bribie Beach House on North Street has a fenced yard and welcomes dogs inside.

Go early morning or late afternoon on weekends to beat the crowds, and time it for low tide for the widest run of sand.
