Dog's Leg Island

Dog's Leg Island is a locally known tidal sandbank in the Swansea Channel, near Little Pelican on the NSW coast. It is not a formally signed dog beach with its own council listing. Getting there. Access is tide-dependent and mainly by wading at low tide from the Little Pelican or Swansea foreshore, or by boat. Check Swansea tide times before heading out, as the sandbank can be cut off or submerged at high tide. There are no confirmed on-site amenities, no water, shade, bins or seating. Bring your own everything.

When to go. Low tide on a quiet weekday gives the most exposed sand and the fewest conflicts with fishers or wildlife.
