Coolum Beach north, around Stumers Creek, is a popular off-leash area best understood through its main entry point: Beach Access 67. The access route itself, rather than the full beach expanse, is what shapes a visit here.
The walk-in. You park in the large free car park at Stumers Creek, off David Low Way via Stumers Creek Road. The pathway from the car park to the designated off-leash zone is on-leash, effective from 3 July 2026. Once you cross north of Beach Access 67, the off-leash stretch begins. The path is direct and straightforward, with nearby public toilets, outdoor showers and dog waste bag dispensers positioned at this access hub before you hit the sand.
Why this access point matters. Entering at Access 67 puts you straight at the Stumers Creek mouth. The creek provides a mix of fresh and saltwater, suited to dogs who want shallow water play without immediately dealing with surf. Low tide widens the sandy expanse and creates calmer shallows in the creek, and the creek mouth shifts with the tides. Natural shade is limited on the sand, so plan accordingly.

Best for dog owners who want a single, well-serviced entry point with immediate creek access rather than a long beach walk.
