Severn Brae Estate

Severn Brae Estate is a rustic, eclectic cellar door on the New England Highway at Severnlea, just south of Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt, with vineyard views, a fireplace for cool days and a relaxed welcome for friendly dogs in the outdoor areas.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome outdoors around the cellar door, where you can sit looking over the vines. Water bowls are provided and there is good shade on warm days. Keep yours on a leash given the rural setting, uneven ground and other visitors moving through, and give the property's resident collie a calm introduction.

It suits dogs that are settled on a leash around vineyard rows and happy to lounge in the shade while you taste. Weekdays are the quieter option if your dog prefers fewer people underfoot, and winter visits mean the fireplace is going indoors while dogs stay outside.

Worth knowing

The range runs to table wines, sparkling, fortifieds and honey meads, with an on-site deli where you can build your own cheese and charcuterie platter. There is also a small trading post stocking Italian knives and homewares, a quirky extra alongside the tastings. It trades Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, closing Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pepsi: platter, mead tasting and a dog asleep in the shade. This is a slow afternoon venue, not a quick stop.

Getting there

The estate is at 25154 New England Highway, Severnlea, with direct access off the highway and free parking right outside the cellar door.
