Severn Brae Estate is a rustic, eclectic cellar door on the New England Highway at Severnlea, with sweeping vineyard views, a fireplace for cooler days, and a relaxed welcome for friendly dogs in the outdoor areas.

Dog access and setup. Dogs are welcome outdoors around the cellar door, where you can sit with a view over the vines. Water bowls are provided and there is good shade if you are visiting on a warm day. Keep dogs on a leash given the rural setting, uneven ground and other visitors moving through.

Known for. An eclectic range of table wines, sparkling, fortifieds and honey meads, plus an on-site deli where you can build your own cheese and charcuterie platter. The property also runs a small "trading post" stocking Italian knives and other homewares, a quirky extra alongside the tastings.

Getting there and parking. The estate is at 25154 New England Highway, Severnlea, with direct access off the highway. Parking is free and available on site right outside the cellar door.

Nearby with the dogs. Whiskey Gully Wines is about 1.2 kilometres away for another cellar door stop, and Blue Pot Pantry and Cafe is roughly 2.8 kilometres off in the Severnlea-Ballandean area if you want a coffee or meal to round out the visit. Stanthorpe, a short drive north, has further dog-friendly cafes and parks.

Weekdays are the quieter option if your dog prefers fewer people underfoot. Good for dogs that are settled on a leash around vineyard rows and happy to lounge in the shade while you taste.
