Red Door Collective is a boutique adults-only vineyard estate at 479 Hermitage Road in Pokolbin, in the middle of the Hunter Valley wine country. It pairs luxury cottage and suite accommodation among the vines with small batch, handcrafted Hunter wines.

Worth knowing for dog owners

The estate's own policies are clear that pets cannot be accommodated, citing the rural location, so this is not a base for a stay with your dog. The cottages and suites are also strictly adults only, with no children between one and 15 accepted.

Arrangements for the cellar door areas are less clear cut than the accommodation rule, so contact the estate directly before planning a visit with a dog rather than assuming either way. Anyone travelling with a dog is better served by the cellar doors around Pokolbin that actively welcome them.

The estate sits on Hermitage Road, one of Pokolbin's main wine routes, about 15 minutes from Cessnock, with on-site parking. Sydney is roughly two and a quarter hours away via the M1.
