Beresford Estate Cellar Door

Beresford Estate runs its tasting pavilion at 252 Blewitt Springs Road, McLaren Flat, a striking modern cellar door set across 70 acres of working vines in the Blewitt Springs sub-region. The range leans into McLaren Vale shiraz and old-vine grenache, with gin flights and Vale Brewing beers widening the appeal, and dogs are welcome on the outdoor terrace and lawns.

The dog setup

Indoor seating in the pavilion is for human guests, but the outdoor terrace and expansive lawns are where dogs settle, leashed beside your table on the grass or veranda. There is decent shade out there, and the space comes into its own on the casual Lavish Lawn Sundays with live music. Keep the lead on throughout; this is a working estate with vines and wildlife about. Bring your own water bowl rather than counting on one being free, and confirm the pet policy by phone before a special trip, since the venue is listed as pet friendly on enquiry.

The vibe

The pavilion packs a lot in: wine flights, curated gin tastings from 23rd Street Distillery, indoor fireplace seating and a big deck over the vines. The kitchen turns out gourmet pizzas and cheese platters, so a tasting becomes a proper lunch on the lawn without leaving the dog behind. Large groups of eight or more should book ahead.

Max: Pizza on the lawn with live music while the humans work through a gin flight. Sunday afternoons do not get much better.

Getting there and parking

A dedicated on-site carpark sits directly in front of the pavilion, and the estate is about a 10-minute drive from the McLaren Vale township. It is easiest by car. The cellar door opens 10am to 5pm daily.

Close by with the dogs

The surrounding roads are quiet and rural for a leashed stroll, and several McLaren Flat cellar doors welcome dogs on their lawns if you are building a day around it.
