What visitors mention
Kellermeister is a boutique, family-owned cellar door on Barossa Valley Way at the southern end of Lyndoch, and one of the easier Barossa tastings to do with a dog by your side. The draw is the covered outdoor deck: shade, panoramic vineyard views over the rolling hills, and staff who genuinely welcome dogs.
The dog setup. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome both on the outdoor seating areas and inside the rustic mudbrick cellar door. The covered deck overlooking the vineyards is the pick of the spots - shaded, with room to settle a dog beside you while you taste. Bring your own water bowl and a mat to be safe; staff are accommodating but the venue does not advertise dedicated dog amenities.
Known for. Premium Shiraz, ancestor-vine Grenache and Eden Valley Riesling, poured in an intimate, unhurried setting rather than a big commercial one. Cheese and pate platters pair well with a long sit on the deck. Walk-in tastings run mainly on Saturdays (roughly 10:30am to 5pm); other days are often by appointment, so check ahead before you drive out.
Getting there. Just north of Lyndoch on the main Barossa Valley Way, about an hour from Adelaide. On-site parking is available and the entrance is easy to reach.
Nearby with the dogs. Lyndoch village is minutes away with dog-friendly cafes and outdoor seating. Chateau Yaldara and Kies Family Wines are close by and also welcome leashed dogs, so a full day of dog-friendly tastings is realistic.
Go on a Saturday for walk-in tasting, aim for late morning to beat the afternoon lull, and confirm hours if you are visiting midweek. Good for a relaxed sit with a settled dog who is happy to lie under the table.
