Mountview Wines Camping and Accommodation

Mountview Wines is a working vineyard on 40 acres at 21 Emu Swamp Road, Glen Aplin, that doubles as a pet-friendly stay: powered and unpowered caravan and tent sites, cabins, and a cellar door pouring the property's house reds under 40-year-old vines.

Dogs at Mountview Wines

Dogs are welcome across the camping and caravan sites, with no extra pet fee reported for camping, and the cabins and units also take dogs provided you flag it when booking. The resident dogs are famously friendly, and guests' dogs are part of the setup rather than an exception to it.

Keep dogs on lead around the property. This is an open working vineyard with kangaroos grazing at dusk, not a fenced dog park, so the leash matters even with a well-behaved dog.

The vibe

It is a rustic, family-run Granite Belt stay with valley views, an intimate cellar door and cheese platters to match the tastings. On-site toilets and a laundry cover the basics, but there is no potable water for filling tanks, so bring drinking water for yourself and your dog.

Getting there

The property sits directly on the cycling trail between Stanthorpe and Ballandean, so dogs get a proper walk straight from your site. Stanthorpe township is a 10 to 15 minute drive for supplies and a water refill station.

While you're out there

Girraween National Park is close by, though dogs are largely restricted to picnic areas there. For cellar doors that take dogs along, Jester Hill Wines and Kominos Wines are both Glen Aplin neighbours, and Dear Vincent Wines is down the road at Ballandean.
