Boorabbin Picnic Ground on Stackpole Street, sometimes spelt Boorabin, pairs paved paths with a fenced off-lead dog park. Walk the paths on lead, then let your dog run inside the fence.

Brisbane City Council requires dogs on lead along the park paths and across the open green spaces.

The fenced off-lead area has separate spaces for large and small dogs, plus agility equipment.

The walk

Paved shared paths cross wide grassy fields and pass shaded picnic shelters, a playground and a basketball half-court. Regenerating bushland along the Bulimba Creek corridor frames the edge.

The paths also link through underpasses toward Mansfield, so it works as the start of a longer on-lead outing.

Water and shade

Mature trees and covered picnic tables give decent shade. Water is available in or near the park and bins are on site, but carry a bowl in the warmer months.

There is plenty of parking by the picnic grounds, along with toilets and barbecues.
