What visitors mention
Holmead Park Fenced Dog Park on Holmead Road is a fully fenced, double-gated off-leash park with separate sections for big and small dogs, set inside a wider parkland of playgrounds and paved walking trails.
The rules. Dogs must stay leashed until safely inside the double-gated enclosure. Close and latch both the outer and inner gates before letting your dog off lead, since a gap between them is the main way dogs slip out. Owners need to stay with and actively supervise their dogs the whole time, and pick up and bin all waste.
What's there. Secure wire mesh fencing wraps both the large-dog and small-dog sections, so you can match the space to your dog's size and confidence. There are water taps and bowls on site, plenty of bench seating, and a large shaded cabana with free gas barbecues, which makes it an easy spot for a weekend catch-up while the dogs run.
Getting there. The park sits just off the Logan and Pacific Motorways, with parking available at the trailhead off Holmead Road. It also connects directly onto the paved Bulimba Creek Bikeway for a traffic-free walk or ride in, and it's a short walk or quick rideshare from Eight Mile Plains Busway Station on the Translink network.

Nearby with the dogs. Dog-friendly cafes with dedicated outdoor set-ups have been reported along the Logan Road corridor towards Mount Gravatt and MacGregor. Confirm current hours and pet policy before you go, since these can change.
When to go. Early mornings before 8am and late afternoons after 4:30pm are the busiest windows, especially on weekends. For a quieter session, mid-morning on a weekday is the safer bet, particularly if your dog is nervous around other dogs.
