Waverley Park

Between Bondi Road, Park Parade and Birrell Street, Waverley Park gives apartment dogs in Bondi Junction a proper off-leash run on top of the Waverley Reservoir. The rest of the park is on-lead walking.

Where the lead comes off

Waverley Council's off-leash zone covers the western middle section of the park, over the Waverley Reservoir. Outside it, dogs must be on a lead.

Dogs are not allowed on the sportsfields or courts, in the Memorial Gardens, or within 10 metres of the playground.

The walk

Paved paths loop past open lawns, the reservoir and the fitness stations beside Waverley Oval. Mature trees shade parts of the upper gully and the perimeter paths.

Council provides dog waste bag stations and bins, there is a kiosk for humans, and toilets sit towards the Bondi Road side.

Max: The no-dog zones are close together here. Clip on before you leave the reservoir area and give the playground its 10 metres.

Make a day of it

Treat the dog at Doglateria Bondi, or walk on to Queens Park Kitchen.

Street parking around the park is limited, so walk in if you are local.
