Llewellyn Park

Llewellyn Park, known in council documents as Llewellyn Reserve, sits along Blind Creek in Wantirna South, just over the border from Wantirna. Wide grass ovals meet a creek corridor of native vegetation, and dogs may be off lead in the general park areas under effective control.

Leads and the no-go zones

Knox City Council allows dogs off lead in general park and reserve areas, provided they are under effective control. Keep dogs out of the sensitive conservation and wetland bushland zones, and follow any signs on the day.

The Friends of Blind Creek Llewellyn restore indigenous vegetation along the creek, which is why those zones matter.

Max: Off lead does not mean off into the creek bushland. Call your dog back before the vegetation line.

The walk

Paved and gravel multi-use tracks cross the reserve and join the Blind Creek trail network, so you can walk a long way off street. Shade is mostly along the perimeter and the creek, not over the open fields.

Getting started

Roadside parking is available near the reserve approaches, including off Blind Creek Lane. Bins sit near entry points and path junctions, but bring water and a bowl for the dog.

Extend the outing on the Dandenong Creek Loop, or head to Wantirna Reserve Fenced Dog Park for a secure run.

It suits energetic dogs with reliable recall. Go early on hot days, as the fields offer little shade.
