Wandin Yallock Creek Reserve

A 1 km nature trail follows Wandin Yallock Creek through a strip of bushland in Seville, then joins the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail. That link means you can make the walk as long as you like, with the dog on lead throughout.

Lead rules

Yarra Ranges Council requires dogs on a lead in public reserves unless an area is signed off-lead, and this one is not. Keep the lead short on shared trails and near the water.

The walk

The formed gravel and dirt track runs beside the creek through native vegetation, with patchy shade from the canopy. It is quiet, away from traffic, and good for birdwatching.

There is no reliable drinking water on the trail, so bring some for the dog.

Getting started

The reserve entrance is at 40 Seymour Street, with street parking around Seymour Street and the Seville township.

Make a day of it

For a run off lead, Seville Recreational Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is close by. Finish at Carriage Cafe Seville.

It suits a gentle sniffing walk for any dog, with the rail trail on hand for dogs who need more.
