Hadfield Park

Hadfield Park on High Street is Wallan's main park, with the Community Park Trail following Wallan Creek through wetlands full of birdlife. Better still, two corners of the park are signed for off-lead play.

The walk

Paved paths suit prams and wheelchairs as well as dogs. The trail runs past the adventure playground and splash park, then along the creek and through the wetlands.

Leads and the off-lead areas

Mitchell Shire Council allows dogs off lead in the south-west corner of the park, south of the creek, and in the north-east corner between Bentinck Street and Windham Street.

Dogs must be on lead within 10 metres of playground equipment and during events and markets. Keep the lead on along the trail and everywhere outside the two off-lead corners.

Max: The splash park draws a crowd on hot days. Clip on well before you pass it.

When to go

Weekday mornings are quieter than market days. The flat paved trail suits older dogs, and the off-lead corners give younger ones a proper run.
