Towradgi Beach Foreshore Path

Towradgi's foreshore path is part of the coastal shared path between Bulli and Wollongong, running smooth and flat beside the beach, the rock pools and the surf club. Dogs walk it on a lead, with limited times on the sand.

Leads and beach times

Wollongong City Council lists Towradgi as an orange zone beach, where dogs must stay on a lead. They are allowed on the sand only before 9am and after 6pm in summer, and before 9am and after 4pm the rest of the year.

Summer here runs from early September to Anzac Day. Dogs must also keep 100 metres clear of patrolled lifeguard areas.

The walk

The path is wide, sealed and well kept, comfortable for prams, wheelchairs and dogs of any fitness level. It runs the length of the foreshore with open ocean views.

Bubblers with dog bowls sit along the path and near the playground, with bins and bag dispensers at the main access points. Coastal trees and picnic shelters give some shade, but long grassy stretches are exposed.

Getting started

There is plenty of free parking beside the reserve, beach and rock pool.

Time it with the beach window. An early walk lets you use the path and the sand before 9am.
