North Break Cafe

North Break Cafe is the casual beachside local in Woonona where the outdoor seating is built around dogs: water bowls come out, puppycinos are on the menu, and the crowd is largely owners in boardshorts mid-walk. It sits a short roll from the sand, so a coffee run here doubles as the dog walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area only; the interior stays for humans. A water bowl is put out for visiting dogs and the puppycino is there if you want to make it a proper treat. The cafe asks that you keep your dog with you at the table rather than tied to the bike rack out front. There is no fee and no booking.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen covers breakfast and lunch with corn fritters, poached eggs, veggie burgers and fish tacos, plus quiche and carrot cake in the cabinet. Coffee is Little Earth Roaster. It is a fast, friendly surf-town room with a relaxed beachside feel. It opens at 7am daily, closing mid-afternoon.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Unit 1/1 Park Road, Woonona, just off the Princes Highway and within walking distance of the beach and the coastal cycleway. Street parking is available on Park Road and nearby streets, and Woonona station is close by.

Close by with the dogs

Woonona and Bulli beaches run time-shared on-lead dog hours, before 9am and after 4pm in winter, and Bellambi Beach to the south is another easy stop.
