Gwawley Park

Gwawley Park spreads across open sports fields beside Gwawley Creek on Taren Point Road, Taren Point, just over the line from Sylvania Waters. It is a flat, grassy place for an on-lead stroll.

On lead only

Sutherland Shire Council classes the park as a dog on-lead area. There is no off-lead section anywhere in the grounds.

The walk

This is open grass rather than a formed track. The creek and Taren Point Road split the park into northern and southern sections, and scattered mature trees shade the edges of the fields.

Bins sit around the sports amenity blocks. Dog water is limited because this is a multi-use sports ground, so bring your own.

Getting there

Parking is on site off Taren Point Road. It gets tight when weekend cricket, AFL or oztag fixtures are on.

Weekday mornings are the quiet window, with empty fields and easy parking. It suits dogs that like a sniff on open grass more than a long hike.
