Subiaco Common

A lake loop, a signed off-lead area, a dog water station and plenty of shade make Subiaco Common one of the easiest routine walks in Subi. It sits between Mere View Way, Juniper Ball Way and Tighe Street.

Leads and the off-lead area

The City of Subiaco has set aside a dog exercise area where dogs can come off lead. Around the family spaces and the children's playground, keep the lead on.

The off-lead zone is unfenced and close to the playground, so it suits social dogs with solid recall.

The walk

Paved paths circle an ornamental lake, where waterbirds and black swans are regular company. Lawns, leafy trees and picnic shelters surround the water.

Pepsi: There is a dog water station here, so the post-loop drink is sorted.

Bins are close by. There are no dedicated parking bays at the park, so most people use the surrounding residential streets.

Make a day of it

Stretch the walk out through Mueller Park, or stop at Yours Truly for a coffee afterwards.

When to go

Evenings are when local owners gather, which is great for sociable dogs. Nervous dogs may do better at other times, on lead.
