Stockyard Creek Circuit

Stockyard Creek Circuit drops through tall eucalypt forest to the creek inside Brisbane Koala Bushlands at Burbank. It is shaded, on-lead bushwalking with a boardwalk, a viewing deck and the chance of a koala overhead.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council manages the bushlands, and dogs must be on a lead at all times. This is protected koala habitat, so keep your dog close and on the track.

The walk

The track mixes sealed path with boardwalk and is mostly flat and wide. Prams can manage it, and some wheelchairs with help on the slopes.

Signs explain the forest as you go, and the circuit wanders around Stockyard Creek with views toward Tingalpa Reservoir.

Max: Koalas and other wildlife live in this forest. A short lead stops a scent-driven dash into the scrub.

Getting started

Free parking sits at the Cherbon Street trailhead by JC Trotter Memorial Park. The toilets are at the Alperton Road picnic grounds, not this entrance.

There is no dog water on the track, so carry a bottle and a bowl, and bag waste to take home.

For an off-lead run afterwards, the Large dogs offleash park at Priestdale is close by.

When to go

The canopy shades most of the loop, which makes it a better summer pick than open parkland. Expect a few short sunny patches near the boardwalk.
