Silver Crescent Park

Silver Crescent Park is a neighbourhood green in Palm Cove with something most small parks lack: a partly fenced off-leash dog area, reached from Osterland Street.

Leads and the off-leash area

Cairns Regional Council manages the park. Dogs can go off lead inside the designated area.

The fencing is only partial, so a dog with patchy recall still needs watching. Around the rest of the park and on the connecting walkways, dogs stay on a lead.

The walk

Sealed concrete and bitumen paths run past the local playground and patches of tropical greenery. They lead on toward the coast, so a short loop here can easily grow into a longer outing.

Max: Partly fenced is not fully fenced. Check where the gaps are before you unclip.

Make a day of it

For a beach run in the cooler months, the winter off-leash dog beach at Clifton Beach is close by. Rattle n Hum Palm Cove is on hand for a meal afterwards.

Suits a quick morning or evening outing. Bring water for the dog.
