Runaway Bay Foreshore

Along the Broadwater at Runaway Bay and Hollywell, the foreshore path is part of the Gold Coast's coastal pathway network. Dogs are welcome on a lead, with fenced off-leash space close by at Bayview Park.

Lead rules

City of Gold Coast requires dogs on a lead along the foreshore paths and in the parks beside them. Let them off only in a designated off-leash area, such as the fenced dog park at Bayview Park in Hollywell.

The walk

The path is paved concrete and shared, so you will meet bikes as well as walkers.

The Broadwater stays calm, with sandy banks, plenty of boats on the water and shaded green parkland beside the path.

Pair it with

Finish with a run at Bayview Park Fenced Dog Park or the Hollywell Dog Park.

When to go

The paved path is easy going for older dogs. On hot days, walk early and use the shaded parkland for breaks, with water for the dog.
