Rowville Lakes Walking Track

Two lakes, a flat path and plenty of waterbirds make the Rowville Lakes Walking Track an easy daily loop. Knox City Council calls it the Rowville Lakes Walk, starting near the Rowville Community Centre on Fulham Road.

Lead rules

Keep dogs on lead around the lakes. Some sources suggest dogs can be off lead here, but the council does not list the lakes as an off-lead area, and parts of the wetland are signed to protect birds.

The walk

A paved, pram-friendly path loops around Suttons Lake and Hill Lake off Lakeside Boulevard. You pass open grassy reserves and a playground, with ducks and waterbirds on the water.

Mature trees shade some stretches, but parts beside the water are fully exposed. There are bins along the way and parking at the community centre.

Let the dog run at Emerson Place Fenced Dog Park, then refuel at Top Seeds Coffee.

Go early or late in summer, when the open sections are cooler and the birds are busy.
