Reid Park

Right in the middle of Jamberoo on Allowrie Street, Reid Park is the village green, with a rotunda, big lawns and water on tap. Dogs are welcome on lead, which makes it an easy stroll rather than a run.

Lead rules

Kiama Municipal Council allows dogs on lead in the general reserve. Keep them at least 10 metres from the children's playground and from barbecue areas where food is being prepared.

For off-lead time, the council's fenced Jamberoo Dog Park is nearby, between Churchill Street and Gibson Crescent.

Shade, water and paths

Pepsi: There are drinking water stations right in the park, so a thirsty dog is sorted without lugging a bottle.

Established trees and built shade structures cover much of the park. Paths are concrete and paved with lawn around them, and there are toilets, picnic tables, barbecues and bins.

Make a day of it

Let the dog burn off energy at Jamberoo Dog Park first, then settle in at The Valley Cafe Jamberoo.

When to go

The flat, paved paths and shade suit older dogs and short walks. The playground and waterplay space draw families, so give that corner a wide berth with a dog that gets excited by kids.
