Peter Kearns Memorial Reserve

Peter Kearns Memorial Reserve, also called Peter Kearns Memorial Oval, is a sports ground on Banks Drive in St Clair rather than a bush walk. It works for a lap on lead around wide, well-kept turf.

Lead rules

Penrith City Council requires dogs to stay on a lead here at all times. The reserve is not an off-lead area, so save the zoomies for a signed dog park.

The walk

Concrete and asphalt paths lead around the reserve, with grass fields laid out for rugby league and mini games. You pass floodlights, a playground and an amenities building, with suburban streets on every side.

Perimeter trees give some shade, but the open field edges can be exposed depending on the time of day. Council bins sit around the reserve and pavilion, and there are public toilets on site.

Getting there

The car park is off Solander Drive, and it can fill up when local sport is on.

For off-lead time, St Clair Fenced Dog Park on St Clair Avenue has separate double-gated areas for big and small dogs.
