Peppercorn Park, Epping

Peppercorn Park, off Keith Avenue in Epping, is the start of a creekside loop of about 2.5 kilometres. It is a green escape through native plants and grassy banks, and dogs walk it on lead.

Lead rules

The City of Whittlesea manages the park. Dogs must be leashed in local parks, playgrounds and on shared creek paths, and there is no off-lead area here.

The walk

Paved shared paths follow a winding creek, crossing it on footbridges, and link up with the Darebin Creek trail. Watch for bikes on the shared sections.

The park has seating and some shady spots, plus open grass and picnic setups for a rest.

Water and bins

There is no dog water in the park, and bins thin out along the creek trail, so bring water, a bowl and bags.

There is plenty of free street parking in the surrounding side streets.

Make a day of it

For off-lead time, Lyndarum Wetlands Fenced Dog Park is also in Epping. For a longer walk with some climbing, try the Quarry Hills Track.

The loop is short and paved, so it suits a weekday walk with an older dog. Go in the cooler hours in summer.
