Parmelia Park

Parmelia Park is a leafy neighbourhood green in South Fremantle, bounded by Parmelia, Chester and Lloyd Streets. It covers about two acres of lawn under big old pines and gums, a relaxed spot rather than a long walk.

Lead rules

The City of Fremantle allows dogs on lead on the open lawns. The fenced children's playground is a dog-prohibited area, so keep clear of it.

Around the park

Concrete paths circle the lawns, passing the playground, fitness equipment and benches. The mature trees throw generous shade across the grass.

Bins sit around the edge and on the neighbouring streets, and there is easy street parking on the quiet residential roads. Bring a bowl on warm days.

Make a day of it

For a proper run, South Beach Dog Off Leash Area is a short trip away. Afterwards, Running With Thieves is a local option.

When to go

It suits a quiet morning sniff or a short evening loop with an older dog, when the shade is at its best and the playground is less busy.
