Oakden Reserves Loop

The Oakden Reserves Loop links a string of small parks and wetland lakes into a 3.4 km circuit. It is flat and paved the whole way, with dogs on lead.

Lead rules

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield signs Roy Amer Reserve and other parks on the loop as on-lead areas. On the connecting streets, normal footpath rules apply, so keep the lead on throughout.

The walk

Concrete and asphalt footpaths join boardwalk sections through the wetlands. You pass stormwater lakes, lots of birds and lawns at Roy Amer Reserve and Harry Weirda Reserve, along with smaller reserves in between.

Mature trees and shelters give shade in the parks, while the street links are more exposed. Drinking fountains, bag stations and toilets are near Roy Amer Reserve.

Getting started

Start at Harry Weirda Reserve or Roy Amer Reserve, where there is street parking and small car parks. The cafe at Roy Amer Reserve welcomes dogs at its outdoor tables.

For off-lead time, the LJ Lewis Reserve Fenced Dog Park is close, and Stockade Park is another walk nearby.

Level and smooth, it suits every fitness level, older dogs included.
