Mount Kuring-gai Oval Loop

A flat circuit around the sportsground on Flanders Avenue, the Mount Kuring-gai Oval Loop is a predictable, easy walk for a routine outing. Dogs must be on a lead the whole way round.

Lead rules

Hornsby Shire Council does not allow dogs off lead on its sports ovals, and dogs must stay at least 10 metres from children's playgrounds. This is not an enclosed dog park.

The walk

The loop follows grass and concrete paths around the perimeter of the playing field, past a modern playground and exercise equipment. Local trees line the edges.

The field is mostly unshaded, with some shade near the playground and grandstand.

Getting started

A free off-street car park sits right at the oval, and there are toilets and bins around the grounds.

Max: The playground sits right on the loop. Give it the full 10 metres.

It is quietest outside training sessions and weekend matches. Skip the middle of a summer day, since there is little shade on the field.
