Keith Stephenson Park

Keith Stephenson Park is the green heart of Mount Barker, on Adelaide Road beside Mount Barker Creek, with a duck pond and lawns linked to the town's shared trails. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Lead rules

Mount Barker District Council requires dogs to stay on a leash in the park and on the connecting trails.

The walk

Sealed shared paths loop the park and join the Laratinga Trail and the linear trail along the creek. You can do a short circuit around the pond or keep going for a longer walk.

It is flat, central and easy, a low-stress walk for older dogs.

Max: Ducks on the pond and kids at the playground. A short lead and a wide berth keep everyone happy.

Water and shade

Bins are spread around the park and near the playground and toilets. Mature trees give good shade, but dog taps are limited, so bring a bottle and bowl.

Parking is off Flaxley Road, across from Mount Barker High School.
